Night Tales
The alleyway was vandalised, littered and dangerous. The bricks were covered with mould and few or no residents lived in the houses. I could smell the malodorous scent of people smoking, then I walked forward and felt an abandoned car with people inside. The alleyway stretched for metres on end so it was difficult navigating through the darkened row.
People could often be seen doing some sketchy business, carrying hundreds of hundreds pounds in their pockets, mostly kids too. The floors were stained with blood and the emergency services had been coming every day for the past four months.
But still, there was life with the occasional plant, or two, sprouting out of a good hearted person's front garden.
When I looked up above, I saw an overhead bridge connecting two opposite homes. It was too scary, I couldn't stay, I wanted to get out as soon as I could, but then I heard the unthinkable …
A ringing noise.
Then I woke up and found this was all just a dream.
